Curious if ODU has all of the pieces in place to win the DII national championship?
Special Team - Kicking, returning game are as good as ever. They are solid in all areas!
Team Speed - Love love their team speed. Lots of playmakers!
Defense - Probably two of the best DE is the league. Was concerned about their linebackers but they seem to be making plays. Secondary is very talented but at times will give up the big play but they are ball hawks!
Offense - Offensive line continue to improve and if they stay healthy that will be a factor down the stretch considering they only really returned one starter. The skill position (RB/WR) is their offensive strength...the kids know how to go get the ball. The 'X-Factor' for ODU is their QB as with many teams. Miller has done well but at times you just wonder that the... Miller's play will no doubt dictate ODU's future.
Overall ODU has very few weaknesses and are posing their will on their opponents.

The GLIAC last year sent one team to the playoffs and that was Ashland and they were done after the first round. ODU just needs to worry about getting past Findlay on national tv.

This should be a great night for both Findley and ODU. Going to be a great game. Just hope there will be seats available. Will be interesting to see if there will be advance sail of tickets. Shame about Ashland last year. Housewright has one bad game all year and it is in the playoffs. I guess West Texas A&M proved some warm weather teams can play in the cold.

well I am guessing ODU is hoping their off night was last night. I know the weather was bad(heavy rain and a lightning delay)but still even when the weather was good in the first half they had a lot of problems. Walsh came prepared to play. I left with the lightning delay but wish I had stayed as the cavaliers put quite a scare in the panthers. A dropped pick six by Walsh in the third quarter wound up being the difference. I wonder if some of those choice words the ODU coach was using after the fumble on the one after the long run were used in the dressing room? Oh the ODU kicker had a great night and a good thing for the panthers he did. 4 of 5 with a 45 yarder made after a kick from 50 didn't count because of a walsh offside penalty.

OhioFan - I think ODU was still reliving the beating they put on Grand Valley State the week prior. I am sure Coach Conley educated them real quick after the Walsh game that they still must show up for their games.

yeah that would probably fall into the perfect trap game category, especially with the rain in the third quarter. Running game looked good though. Looked like Coach was educating the refs on their eyesight after the fumble at the one cost odu a touchdown in the first half.

ODU has certainly looked very good in a number of games this year. Others though they have played to their opposistion. I have seen three, Hillsdale and Findley they looked great, walsh just very good. The running game is really strong and if they can get it going they are team that will have a shot in the playoffs. One must remember though that Ashland as mentioned by Mike went out early last year and they were also a strong team with a very good qb(who just happened to have a bad day at the wrong time). There are a lot of very good teams in the d2 rankings. I can tell you from watching them last year that West Texas A&M is very good. If I remember right they made it to the semi's last year. I also would guess that as the rankings are right now ODU would not get a home game, certainly not in the second round anyway. ODU has a real shot but don't take anyone lightly.

congrats on the bye in the first round. Watch out for that second round game though. If it is West Texas A&M they will be dangerous. They came up to Ashland and knocked them off last year in the same round of the playoffs. GO Panthers.

congrats ODU on a great year. Just ran into the Ohio killers. Kept fighting till the end so nothing to feel sorry about. Great year for the program and everyone at ODU should be proud of all the accomplishments this year and the exposure ODU has received.
